Texas Commercial Truck Insurance

Texas commercial truck insurance for truck tractors, dump trucks and box trucks, placed by a licensed agency that quotes the operation, binds the policy and puts the Form E or BMC-91 on file as part of binding. One agent handles the quote, the changes and the renewal, so your trucks keep moving and nobody at a scale house finds a gap. Licensed in Texas (TDI #3575118, NPN 22228605).

Vehicle type

In short

Liability, cargo and physical damage for Texas carriers, with the filing done and one agent who picks up when something changes.

  • Add or remove a truck with one call. Fleets of 2 to 50 can run on monthly reporting and send one report of changes a month.
  • Certificates to your brokers when you ask, from the agent who knows your file, not a call center queue.
  • Interstate or Texas-only, we place both and send the right filing. Mexican B-1 drivers on the schedule are fine.
  • Licensed Nevada insurance agency
  • 20 years of insurance experience
  • English and Spanish
  • Federal and state filings handled
  • Las Vegas office, 2620 Regatta Dr Suite 102

What drives your rate

  • Radius and lanes: long haul on I-35 rates differently than Port of Houston drayage or Permian oilfield work.
  • Garaging: a fenced yard rates better than a street address, and Texas underwriters ask which one first.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Send your USDOT number and equipment list

  2. Step 2: We quote the carriers that write Texas trucking

  3. Step 3: Bind, file, cab card

For for-hire carriers garaged in Texas or running Texas lanes.

Questions carriers ask

Do I file with TxDMV or FMCSA?

Interstate carriers file the BMC-91 with FMCSA. Carriers that stay inside Texas hold a TxDMV certificate that issues only after your insurer sends an electronic Form E; a paper certificate in the cab proves nothing to either. If you're not sure which you are, say so on the form. It changes the filing, and we sort it out on the call.

What happens if my Texas trucking insurance is cancelled?

Your insurer files an electronic Form K with TxDMV, and when the policy ends the certificate goes with it, so a replacement Form E has to be on file first. The fix is a replacement policy filed by the new insurer, not a binder faxed to Austin.

What limits do I need in Texas?

Texas-only carriers over 26,000 lbs need $500,000 in liability on file with TxDMV. Interstate general freight needs $750,000 under 49 CFR 387.9, and most brokers ask for $1,000,000 plus $100,000 cargo before they tender a load.
